Before it became a book, Toyo Ba ’Ka Mo?™ (#TBKM) began as a quiet morning ritual.
The early hours held a different kind of magic— soft birdsong, freshly brewed coffee, and a sense of calm that allowed ideas to surface gently.
I started writing inside my MaTa™ handbound journal (Lumad Edition) by Kina Amapola™, capturing snippets of memory, recipe sketches, and thoughts about nourishment and culture.
There was no grand plan— just a growing feeling that this deserved space, that these ideas wanted to become something more.
This is the first behind-the-scenes look at the beginnings of TBKM™ —
a book rooted in slowness, sincerity, and the simple joys of the Filipino aka Katutubo kitchen.
More behind-the-scenes moments will follow.
#pagmamahalatpasasalamat for being a part of my journey...
#mettalove, lovelies!
